Roma vs. Torino: Current situation
Roma has been struggling ever since Jose Mourinho was fired, and Daniele De Rossi simply could not fit in those shoes. Torino is ninth in the standings, which is according to the predictions coming into the season but still lower than the club’s expectations. Ivan Juric will be under the spotlight in this game as the Croat took over Roma after three seasons in Torino. Juric is on a hot seat after Roma was humiliated by Fiorentina for the weekend, and nothing but a win will make things better. It definitely helps that Juric worked with the majority of Torino’s players last year, but that does not guarantee anything. Roma will miss a pair of strikers as Stephan El Shaarawy and Alexis Saelemaekers are out with injuries. Paolo Vanoli has even bigger issues, as besides strikers Duvan Zapata and Alieu Njie, he will not be able to count on midfielders Ivan Ilic and Adrien Tameze and defender Borna Sosa. Still, Torino has the momentum, and their playing style will be a problem for the home team. Roma will play to regain the respect of the fans, but that will simply not be good enough to win this game.
