Roma vs. Torino: Current situation

Roma has been struggling ever since Jose Mourinho was fired, and Daniele De Rossi simply could not fit in those shoes. He spent less than a year on the bench and was sacked after Rome did not win any games in the first four matchdays of the 2024-25 season. Things did not get any better after Ivan Juric took the job, and no matter how badly the team plays, he will most likely not be fired by the end of the season. Roma hit rock bottom this past weekend when they lost 5-1 to Fiorentina and they need to bounce back immediately.

Torino’s head coach, Paolo Vanoli, would have probably been the next fired coach if Torino did not manage to win the last game against Como. Vanoli replaced Juric this summer on Torino’s bench, and even though the team front office was aware that he would need some time to rebuild the team’s identity, losing three consecutive Serie A games sounded the alarm. The win against Como was a lifesaver for the team, and Torino is now back in the top half of the standings. However, the schedule is not going in their favor and Torino will need to pick their game up in order to keep their spot in the standings.

Roma Stats & Form

AS RomaWinning only three games in the last ten games is not something that Roma’s fans can be satisfied with, and Sunday’s 5-1 loss to Fiorentina was a hard hit for the club. Now Roma has only one point in the last three Serie A games, and the win against Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League makes no difference. Roma is now 11th in the standings with only two wins in nine games so far in the season. It is worth noting that they stayed undefeated in four of five road games this season. Roma is tied for the second place in the league with 60.6% of possession, ranks third in accurate passes per game, and is second in touches in the opposite box. Artem Dovbyk is the best scorer on the team with 3 goals so far in the season.

Torino Stats & Form

Torino

Torino is ninth in the standings, which is according to the predictions coming into the season but still lower than the club’s expectations. It is interesting to point out that the Maroons lost three consecutive games by the score of 3-2 before beating Como 1-0 in the last one. Torino is on top of the league with 4.2 saves per game, which goes to their goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic Savic. They are also second in yellow cards and third in clearances per game. Che Adams and Duvan Zapata lead the team with three goals each so far in the Serie A season.

Roma – Torino: Head to Head

Roma has won six, Torino two, and two of the last ten games between these two teams ended in a draw. Last season, Roma won 3-2 at home, while it was 1-1 when Torino was the host team. The last time Torino beat Roma was in April 2021, when the score was 3-1. The last time Torino won in Rome was in the first matchday in 2020. In three of the last four games between these two teams, both teams scored at least a goal.
