Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys: Current situation
The Atlanta Falcons are looking better than ever this season and have a chance to have their best start in 8 seasons. Betting tip and prediction: Atlanta Falcons - Dallas Cowboys (03.11.2024)
It’s been a while since we saw the Atlanta Falcons having such a promising season, as they are on the path to having their first winning year since 2017. They will try to go 6-3 for the first time since 2016, when they won the NFC. The Falcons have won 4 of their last 5 games, with each victory coming against NFC South divisional opponents. They are also perfect on the road and are only 2-3 in home games. Atlanta’s offense looks much better this year, increasing their average by almost six points compared to last season, and they have gone over 30 on three occasions, while they had no such game last season. QB Kirk Cousins is the main reason for the right direction the team is going. He has 2,106 passing yards and ranks third in the NFL, and his 14 touchdown passes are tied for fifth. On the other side, the Cowboys are not doing so well as they are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020. They have struggled mightily under first-year defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. Dak Prescott, the NFL’s highest-paid player, had two interceptions in each of the last three games and will have to pick up his game when the Cowboys visit Atlanta. Micah Parson’s absence will be a problem for the Cowboys but cannot be an excuse for another bad game. Cornerback Trevon Diggs is questionable for the Sunday game. For the Falcons, offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom, defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro, linebackers Troy Andersen and Kaden Elliss, safety Justin Simmons, and center Drew Dalman are all questionable. Given the current form, the Falcons are the better team, but as usual, that cannot last forever, just like the Cowboys’ struggles. Dallas is too big of a club to lose playoff hopes this early in the season. So, there is no doubt that Prescott will bring in his top game, and we expect the Cowboys to cover the +2.5-point spread.
