It has been a challenging few seasons for New Orleans Pelicans fans, but things are finally moving in the right direction. Mediocrity is the word that best describes the Atlanta Hawks. Star player Trae Young was once hailed as the new Stephen Curry, but as time has gone on he has not exactly lived up to that potential. After making it into the Conference Finals in 2021, Atlanta has only made it to the 1st Round twice since then, last season they finished with a 36-46 record, only to lose in the play-in tournament to the Chicago Bulls.

Both teams have been plagued by injuries to start the new season, however two key players should return in time for Sunday’s game. The Pelicans get C.J. McCollum back, while for the Hawks De’Andre Hunter will make a return. New Orleans isn’t exactly the best offense in the NBA, but facing a Hawks team that cannot defend to save it’s life should benefit them. McCollum adds much needed perimeter offense, while Zion Williamson should be able to dominate on the interior.
